A pack of 2 clear polycarbonate visors, 39 x 20 cm, with a plastic edge and a universal fixing for the BALBI2, PICO2, VISOR-H and VISOR HOLDER face shield holders.
Start with how the shield will be worn. On its own head harness, the Delta Plus VISOR-H fits head sizes 53 to 63 cm with its ROTOR adjustment, and the Karam ES52 has ratchet headgear with a 200 mm x 395 mm polycarbonate window. On a safety helmet, the Delta Plus VISOR HOLDER fits ZIRCON, QUARTZ and BASEBALL DIAMOND helmets and can be worn with earmuffs, and the VISOR-U is a dielectric holder. The Karam ES51 mounts on Shelmet, Sheltek and Shelblast helmets, and the Frontier FT171 visor fits an aluminium cap frame, FT171(01), or a polypropylene ratchet frame with a padded headband, FT171(02).
Then match the visor to the hazard. EN 166 marks show what a visor protects against: 3 for liquid splashes, 8 for short circuit electric arc and 9 for molten metal and hot solids, while A, B and F mark high, medium and low energy impact. Delta Plus lists the VISOR-H to EN 166 3 BT 389 AT and EN 1731 F, and its 39 x 20 cm visors come as VISORPC clear (pack of 2) or VISOR TORIC in clear or shade 5. Karam states ES51 and ES52 to EN 166:2001 and IS 8521 (Part 1):2022, and lists Level B impact resistance and protection against molten metal splashes for the Frontier FT171 visor, in clear or IR5. For electrical work, the Delta Plus VISOR FLASH visor is rated 14 cal/cm² under ASTM F 2178-12 and reaches GS-ET 29 arc fault Class 2 on the VISOR-U holder or Class 1 on the VISOR HOLDER.
For welding, choose the filter for the process. The Delta Plus BARRIER 2 self-darkening helmet covers shade 9 to 13 for MIG, MAG, TIG and plasma welding, shade 5 to 9 for low intensity or flame welding and shade 4 for grinding, with 4 sensors and a 100 x 67 mm field of view. The SCREEN self-darkening helmet covers shade 9 to 13, with the shade set from the outside and replaceable CR2032 batteries. For a fixed shade 11 filter to EN 169, the CASOUD 3 is worn on its own headband and the CASOUD2HE mounts on a safety helmet, both with a flip-up filter. Karam ES61 (head-worn) and ES71 (helmet mountable) welding shields are stated to EN 175:1997, with a 100 mm x 75 mm window. For gas welding and furnaces, Karam ES003 spectacles have an IR-5 lens, and ES004 goggles have a flip-up IR-11 window for arc welding and grinding.
Plan for spares, since the outer screen in front of a welding filter is replaced when it gets damaged. Delta Plus offers BARRIER PLATE 2 and SCREEN PLATE outer screens in packs of 5, FILTER-IN clear covers and FILTER 11 shade 11 mineral filters, both 108 x 51 mm in packs of 5, and BASWELD sweat bands in bags of 10.
