Safety Glasses and Goggles in Bhopal

Start with the hazard. Safety spectacles suit flying particles, dust and general site or shop floor work, while goggles seal around the eyes for liquid splashes and dust. Both brands state their eyewear to EN 166, many Karam models are also stated to IS 8521 (Part 1):2022, and several Delta Plus models also carry ANSI Z87.1 Z87+. In the EN 166 marking, F stands for low energy impact and B for medium energy impact, 3 for liquid droplets and splashes and 4 for large dust particles. Delta Plus RUIZ 1 is marked 3, and GALERAS and SAJAMA are marked 3 and 4. Karam ES008, ES009 and the Frontier FT121 and FT161 goggles have a soft PVC rim or shroud that seals the eyes against chemical splashes, and the Frontier FT131 splash goggle has a flip-up window.

Then choose the lens for the light and the task. Clear lenses suit indoor work, and Delta Plus lists its clear lenses to EN 170 (2C-1.2). Smoke lenses to EN 172 cut sun glare outdoors, and IRAYA, MEIA and BRAVA2 also come in yellow. RIMFIRE is offered with a mirror or polarized lens, and the HELIUM 2 BLUE BLOCKER lens filters 65% of blue light from screens, as stated by Delta Plus. Against welding glare, PACAYA T5 and LIPARI2 T5 have a shade 5 welding filter to EN 169. Karam offers clear or smoked lenses on ES007, FT101 and FT111, and clear anti-fog lenses on ES017, ES018 and ES019 for humid or misty conditions. If lenses scratch or mist up in your work, look for the K (anti-scratch) and N (anti-fog) marks, as on Delta Plus ASO2 and SAJAMA.

Fit matters as much as the lens. If you wear prescription glasses, Karam ES007 and Frontier FT141 are over-spectacles, and the Delta Plus GALERAS and Karam ES008, ES009, FT131 and FT161 goggles are made to go over glasses. GALERAS can be worn with a disposable half mask and FT161 with reusable half-masks. With a helmet and ear defenders, BRAVA2 has soft flat spatula arms, and the ASO2 and THUNDER arms hold well under a helmet. For a closer fit, Karam ES015 temples adjust over a 15 mm range and FT151 over a 14 mm range, ES018 has extending arms with 4-point temple adjustment, and Delta Plus KILIMANDJARO has adjustable nylon arms. For long shifts, light frames include HELIUM 2 at 17 g, MILO at 18 g, MEIA at 22 g and IRAYA at 24 g.

Some sites have special needs. For electrical work, Delta Plus MILO and Karam ES015 and Frontier FT111 have metal-free, dielectric frames. In food plants, the HELIUM 2 DETECTABLE frame can be found by X-ray and magnetic detectors. For dusty work, PACAYA and PACAYA LYVIZ have a removable foam surround, and LYVIZ adds a coating that repels water and oil.
