Start with the number of zones. Both water leak panels come in 2 and 4 zone versions and report each zone separately, so choose the version by how many areas, such as server rooms, plant rooms or stores, you want to identify. The Soft-Chip panel is a conventional, microprocessor based panel that shows leak, open, short and isolate for every zone on a backlit LCD and LEDs, with lamp test, silence, evacuate and reset controls, and runs on 24 V DC with battery backup. The Agni panel runs on 220 V AC / 24 V DC, has a coated 1.8 mm CRCA steel sheet body and gives one potential free contact for each zone.
Then plan how water is sensed and how the alarm is passed on. The Agni sensing cable, a PVC twisted pair with stainless steel sensing elements, detects water along its entire length, so one run can follow equipment rows or pipe routes instead of watching a single point, and more than one cable can connect to a WD-AMX unit. To send the alarm elsewhere, the Soft-Chip panel has a potential free relay for signal transfer to a remote area such as a security room, and the Agni panel's contact for each zone lets every area be signalled on its own.
For intruder protection, the Soft-Chip Group Security Alarm is a microprocessor based panel for banks and similar premises. It is switched on and off and programmed from a keypad, shows status on a 16x2 LCD, keeps a 250 event log and has a 24 hour real time clock that changes between day and night modes automatically, with night mode active on Sundays and holidays. It runs on 12 VDC and is listed with central monitoring system (CMS) reporting over TCP/IP, PSTN or GSM. Soft-Chip lists accessories for this system, and FPS supplies them with the panel.
Soft-Chip lists CE and RoHS marking and ERTL (North) testing for both of its panels. Share your site layout and the areas to be covered when you ask for a quote, so FPS can match the zones, cable runs and accessories.
