How to choose
Hi-vis, or high visibility, clothing uses a bright hi-vis fabric together with reflective tape that throws light back towards its source, such as vehicle headlights, so the wearer is easier to see by day and at night. SafeEss makes its range in hi-vis pure cotton or hi-vis polyester cotton, in 200, 210, 240, 260, 280 or 300 GSM. GSM means grams per square metre: a lower number is a lighter fabric for warm weather, a higher number a heavier one.
Choose the garment for the job: a jacket with a front zipper shielded by a hook and loop flap, chest and waist pockets and elastic cuffs; trousers with a front zip, waist, thigh bellow and back pockets, belt loops and elastic at the back; or a one piece coverall. All carry two inch reflective tape at the shoulders, sleeves, back and shins, in silver or YSY tape, a striped yellow and silver reflective tape, and are triple stitched throughout.
