New Age UL Listed Gate and Butterfly Valves in Bhopal

Fire Protection System (FPS), a New Age supplier in Bhopal, supplies New Age UL Listed gate valves to AWWA C515, in NRS and OS&Y types rated 200 psi or 300 psi with flanged or grooved ends, and UL Listed grooved and wafer butterfly valves rated 300 psi.

Where to use Gate and Butterfly Valves

  • Sprinkler and hydrant system isolation where UL Listed valves are specified
  • Fire pump suction and delivery lines in pump rooms
  • Control points where the open or shut position must be visible (OS&Y gate valves)
  • Grooved pipework in sprinkler and hydrant systems (grooved end models)
  • Valve pits and places with little headroom (NRS gate valves)
  • Higher pressure fire mains (300 psi gate valves and 300 psi butterfly valves)
  • Lines where a short valve between flanges saves space (wafer butterfly valve)

How to choose

Every valve on this page is UL Listed. The gate valves are designed to AWWA C515, the American Water Works Association standard for resilient seated gate valves, and most are listed with epoxy resin coating inside and outside the body. Choose OS&Y (outside screw and yoke) where the stem should show whether the valve is open or shut, and NRS (non rising stem) where there is little space above the valve.

Then choose the pressure and ends. The 200 psi gate valves come with flanged, grooved, or flanged by grooved ends, and the 300 psi gate valves are flanged. Flanges are to ANSI B16.1 Class 125 or to the customer's requirement, and grooves are metric or to AWWA C606. The NRS and 300 psi models run from 2½ inch to 12 inch, and the 200 psi OS&Y models from 2 inch to 12 inch.

The butterfly valves are designed to API 609 with an ISO 5211 top flange, the standard mounting for a gearbox or actuator. They are rated for a 300 psi (21 bar) working pressure and -20°C to 110°C, from 2½ inch to 12 inch; the grooved version has AWWA C606 grooves, and the wafer version has ASME B16.1 face to face dimensions for fitting between flanges. FPS supplies and installs these valves across Madhya Pradesh.

Frequently asked questions

Are New Age gate and butterfly valves UL Listed?
Yes. New Age lists all its gate valves (200 psi and 300 psi, NRS and OS&Y) and its grooved and wafer butterfly valves as UL Listed.
What is the difference between NRS and OS&Y gate valves?
On an OS&Y (outside screw and yoke) valve the stem rises as the valve opens, so its position can be seen at a glance. On an NRS (non rising stem) valve the stem stays in place, which suits pits and tight spaces.
What is AWWA C515?
It is the American Water Works Association standard for resilient seated gate valves for water service. New Age designs its UL Listed gate valves to AWWA C515.
Should I choose grooved or flanged ends?
Match the ends to the pipework: grooved valves join grooved pipe with grooved couplings, and flanged valves bolt to ANSI B16.1 Class 125 flanges. New Age also makes flanged by grooved gate valves for a change between the two.
What pressure are these valves rated for?
The gate valves come in 200 psi and 300 psi nominal pressure versions, and the butterfly valves have a 300 psi (21 bar) working pressure with a -20°C to 110°C temperature range.
How do I get a price for New Age valves?
Prices depend on type, size, ends and quantity and are given on request. Call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060 and FPS will quote for supply, or supply with installation across MP.
