Start with the fire risk. ABC powder covers Class A (wood, paper, cloth and other solids), Class B (flammable liquids) and Class C (electrical and gas) fires, which is why it is the most widely used extinguisher type in mixed occupancies such as offices, shops and factories.
Pick the size by area and by who will use it. The 1 Kg unit is a compact first response device weighing about 2 Kg gross, suited to cars, homes and small shops. Larger 4, 6 and 9 Kg units hold more agent and are used for corridors, warehouses, plant rooms and production areas.
Choose the body material for the environment. Mild steel bodies suit general indoor use, while stainless steel is preferred where appearance or a damp, washdown area is a concern. Both are stored pressure units: the powder sits under nitrogen pressure so the extinguisher discharges the moment the squeeze grip valve is pressed.
Check compliance and upkeep. Savemax units are ISI marked to IS 2171 : 2024, CPWD approved and Euro certified to EN 3, which is often required in tenders. Ask FPS about wall mounting, signage, staff demonstration and a refill schedule at the same time as the order.
