For homes, small shops and offices, choose by how you want to be told about a fire. The IMPACT by Honeywell FDC-101 is a battery operated, Wi-Fi enabled smoke detector: it sounds a buzzer and flashes an LED, and it also sends alerts and real-time notifications to a smartphone through the IMPACT by Honeywell app, without fire alarm wiring. The SSD-100 is a standalone smoke alarm on two AA batteries that sounds and lights up on its own. Both use photoelectric sensing, where smoke entering the detector's chamber is picked up optically, and both are made for DIY installation.
For open areas, the Xtralis OSID-DE uses Open-area Smoke Imaging Detection: projected beams on two wavelengths combined with optical imaging. Honeywell built it to deal with the false alarms and alignment difficulties that typical beam detectors can suffer from.
When a detector sits in a concealed or hard to see place, add the RI/007C response indicator. It is wired to the detector, conventional or addressable, and shows the alarm on a bright LED where people can see it, so the source of the alarm is found quickly. Several detectors can share one indicator, but Honeywell recommends one indicator per detector when each detector's alarm must be identified on its own.
FPS supplies, installs and maintains Honeywell smoke detectors and indicators in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.
