Clean agent systems put out fire without water, which suits rooms with equipment or collections that should not get wet. Honeywell offers two clean agents. FK-5-1-12 is clean, colourless, odourless and non-toxic, has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and a 5-day atmospheric lifetime, reaches extinguishing levels within 10 seconds, and is offered at 25 bar, 34.5 bar and 42 bar. HFC-227ea is super-pressurised with dry nitrogen to 25 bar (360 psi), also comes in a 42 bar version, has zero ODP and is discharged as a vapour within 10 seconds. Honeywell states that the FK-5-1-12 system complies with NFPA 2001, the NFPA standard for clean agent fire extinguishing systems.
INFERNO SHIELD is Honeywell's FK-5-1-12 clean agent system for large-volume, high-risk spaces where fast extinguishing and business continuity matter. For a single equipment rack, the rack mount suppression unit uses a clean agent that is safe for PCBs, covers racks of 1.5 m3 to 3 m3, uses cross zone smoke detection, and has an LCD display, open door alarm, visual alarm with fault status, 24 hour battery backup and relay contacts for BMS integration.
The Honeywell inert suppression system uses IG-541, a blend of 52% nitrogen, 40% argon and 8% CO2. Once ventilation in the room has stopped, it puts out class A, B and C fires by lowering the oxygen level from 20.9% to between 10% and 14.2%. On an alarm, the fire alarm panel runs a pre-programmed delay before a solenoid releases the agent. A stand-alone system protects one space, while a multi-zone system adds zone valves and a starter kit to send the agent only to the section where the fire was detected.
FPS supplies, installs, tests, commissions and maintains Honeywell suppression systems in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.
