These parts make up a Honeywell FK-5-1-12 or HFC-227ea clean agent system. The agent is stored in a seamless cylinder with a siphon tube, cylinder valve, actuation port, discharge outlet and pressure gauge, offered in 34, 80, 120, 140 and 180 litre sizes, either as a standard unit or with a Switch-in-Gauge that monitors cylinder pressure. Mild steel straps hold the cylinders upright.
Release starts at the master cylinder. The electric-cum-manual actuator (electric control head) sits on its actuation port and opens it on a 24 V DC signal from the fire alarm panel, or by hand with its manual plunger, and a supervisory switch tells the releasing panel if the head is taken off. In a multiple cylinder system, the master cylinder adapter kit and 1/4 inch flexible actuation hoses carry pressure to a pressure operated control head on each slave cylinder, which then opens that cylinder's valve. Male tees link the hose from one slave cylinder to the next, and an elbow ends the line at the last one.
From each cylinder, a flexible discharge hose leads to the pipe, the manifold or a check valve. Manifold check valves, fitted vertically, stop back flow from the manifold if the system discharges unintentionally. Brass nozzles with female NPT threads set the flow rate and spread the agent through the protected area, in 180 or 360 degree patterns. A manifold discharge pressure switch tells the panel that the system has discharged, and its reset button must be pressed afterwards.
Match parts to the system pressure. The 1.5 inch (40NB) check valve suits 42 bar systems and the 2 inch (50NB) one suits 25 bar systems; NB means nominal bore, the pipe size. Discharge hoses come in both sizes, with working pressures of 90 bar (1.5 inch) and 80 bar (2 inch). FPS supplies and fits these components in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.
