CO2 Flooding System (CO2 Fire Suppression) in Bhopal

A CO2 system floods a closed panel, machine or unmanned room with carbon dioxide, which cools the fire and pushes out the oxygen it needs. It leaves no residue and does not conduct electricity, which makes it the usual choice for electrical panels, DG sets, transformers and machine enclosures. FPS supplies, installs and refills CO2 systems from Ceasefire, Kanex and HD Fire.

Where a CO2 system fits, and where it does not

CO2 works two ways: it cools, and it brings the oxygen down until the fire goes out. It is colourless, odourless and electrically non conductive, and it clears by ventilation with nothing to clean up.

At the concentration needed to put out a fire, CO2 is dangerous to people. That is why CO2 systems protect enclosures and rooms where nobody works, and why a room system needs a countdown, warning signs at the doors and a lock-off for maintenance. For rooms where people work, choose a clean agent or inert gas system.

CO2 systems for panels, machines and enclosures

Kanex DHP, with 4.5 and 6.5 kg cylinders, runs its UL listed tube round the critical parts of panels, transformers and DG sets and discharges at the source. Kanex IHP uses nozzles for larger enclosures, panels, generators, CNC and EDM machines, with cylinders from 4.5 kg up to 45 kg. Ceasefire in-panel CO2 systems come in direct and indirect high pressure versions, and the HD Fire HD-RAKSHAK charges its detection tube with CO2 from the system cylinder. Kanex lists CCOE or PESO approved cylinders and gas to IS 15222.

Kanex

Kanex CO2 Indirect High Pressure (IHP) Suppression System

CO2 agentIndirect release (IHP)4.5 to 45 kg

Sizes: 4.5, 6.5, 9, 22.5, 45 kg

Indirect high pressure CO2 systems for panels, dry type transformers and generators, CNC and EDM machines and fume hoods, where the detection tube senses the fire and nozzles deliver CO2 as a gentle mist. Cylinder sizes from 4.5 kg up to 45 kg depending on the enclosure.

HD Fire

HD Fire HD-RAKSHAK In-Cabinet CO2 Suppression System (IHP)

CO2 agentIn-cabinet system60 bar

Sizes: 2 kg to 18 kg

An in-cabinet fire suppression system that uses CO2, with a UL Listed heat-sensing tube for detection and an automatic IHP valve in brass. The detection tube is charged with CO2 from the system cylinder, so it needs no separate nitrogen cylinder.

CO2 for unmanned rooms

For a whole room where nobody works, Ceasefire's inert gas range includes a CO2 total flooding option, designed with the room, the release panel and the safety measures together.

CO2 fire extinguishers

Keep a portable CO2 extinguisher beside every panel and DG set for a first response. Pick a size to compare every brand:

How to choose

Direct or indirect: in a direct system the tube itself bursts at the fire and becomes the nozzle, which suits panels and small enclosures. An indirect system uses the tube only to detect and sends CO2 through nozzles, which suits larger enclosures and machines.

Size the cylinder to the volume: Kanex sizes its cylinders from 4.5 to 45 kg by design calculation, and we work this out on the site survey.

Keep people safe: CO2 only where nobody works, warning signs on every protected door, and a lock-off whenever someone works inside. We install, commission and refill the system and check it under an AMC.

Frequently asked questions

Is a CO2 flooding system safe?
Not for people at the concentration it uses, so it protects enclosures and unmanned spaces, with warning signs, a countdown and a lock-off for rooms. For occupied rooms use a clean agent or inert gas system.
Does CO2 damage electrical equipment?
No. It is non conductive and leaves no residue, so equipment can be restarted once the fault is fixed and the area is ventilated.
Can you refill CO2 system cylinders?
Yes. We refill and weigh CO2 cylinders after a discharge and check their weight under our AMC.
What is the difference between a direct and an indirect CO2 system?
In a direct system the heat sensing tube bursts at the fire and discharges the CO2 there. In an indirect system the tube only detects the fire and opens a valve, and the CO2 leaves through fixed nozzles, which suits larger enclosures.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the volume to protect, the agent, the number of zones and the release panel, so we quote after a free site survey. Send the room size and what it holds on WhatsApp at +91 92440 89060. Every supply is billed on a GST invoice.
