First decide whether the anchor stays in place or moves from job to job. Fixed anchors to EN 795:2012 Type A stay on the structure: Karam offers an aluminium point anchor (SA09, up to 3 users), galvanized alloy steel point anchors (SA10 and SA10A, up to 4 users) and the SA41 stainless steel flange anchor, all with a minimum breaking strength of 23 kN, plus the SA12 stainless steel chemical anchor for concrete and the small SA42-12 flange anchor for an M12 bolt, both at 12 kN. Transportable anchors to EN 795:2012 Type B include Karam beam clamps and beam trolleys for steel flanges (one trolley with insulated rollers for areas with electrical hazards), parapet anchors, a door and window anchor for openings from 600 mm to 1250 mm, an edge anchor for metal roofs and a shipping container anchor post, while the Delta Plus 25 mm tubular strap (EN 795 Type B, 1 m to 2 m) serves as an anchorage point or as a lanyard.
For a quick tie-off around a beam, pipe or concrete member, use a strap or sling. Karam cross arm straps come in 44mm, 25mm or 20mm polyester webbing with loop or D-ring ends, rated at a minimum breaking strength of 18 kN for 3 minutes, alongside a 50mm concrete anchor strap, a Flanil aramid strap with Kevlar stitching for heat, sparks and welding, and 8.0mm wire rope slings in PVC coated galvanized or stainless steel at 23 kN. Lengths run from 0.5m to 2m, or as requested.
To let workers move along a roof or structure, choose a horizontal lifeline. Permanent options are the Karam Horizon PN4000 stainless steel cable lifeline for up to 4 users, roof mounted or floor and ceiling mounted, the PN4000 LS for single spans of 5 to 35 metres, and the PN5000 aluminium rail to EN 795:2012 Type D for up to 6 users. Karam makes posts and brackets to suit the structure: energy absorbing posts that deploy in a fall to protect trapezoidal and standing seam roofs, I-beam posts, beam flange plates, Klip Lok clamps, and FRP walkways to EN 516:2006. Temporary options include a 30mm webbing lifeline for 2 users up to 20m, 16mm kernmantle rope lifelines for 2 or 4 users, the retractable Handy Line for up to 2 users, and the T-Line twin retractable lifeline, with or without a rescue winch, for low clearance areas such as scaffolding.
For ladders, towers and chimneys choose a vertical system to EN 353-1:2014+A1:2017. The Karam Vertex PN6000, PN7000 and PN7500 run on SS 316 cable with intermediates every 10m, and the PN8000 aluminium rail and PN9000 ladder with an integrated rail use a guided trolley with built in shock absorption that passes bends. For a flexible rope line, Karam rope grabs to EN 353-2:2002 come openable, so they fit anywhere on the line, or non-openable, in galvanized steel, stainless steel or aluminium, with shock absorber, spacing strap or anti-panic versions, and the PN2010 anchorage line with a rope grab is made from 5m to 100m.
