Foam and water trolley extinguishers carry 20 to 135 litre on wheels with a long hose, for fuel and solvent risks too large for a portable unit. Here are 22 trolley and wheeled models from Ceasefire, Kanex, Minimax, Savemax and Balaji Fire Safety, compared side by side.
Figures as each maker publishes them. Fire ratings are to IS 15683, or EN 3 where marked: A for wood, paper and cloth, B for flammable liquids and F for cooking oil; a higher number means a larger test fire put out.
Across the 22 models here, as their makers list them: full weight about 85 to 208 kg, height about 1000 to 1560 mm, discharge time about 25 to 180 seconds and throw about 6 to 10 m.
Most foam trolleys here use AFFF or alcohol resistant AR-AFFF and are rated 20A 233B where listed. Ceasefire's EN 1866 range goes up to 135 litre, in foam and water versions.
Kanex lists about 160 to 180 seconds of discharge and a 9 m throw for its 45 and 60 litre AR-AFFF trolleys; Minimax lists 25 to 40 seconds and 6 to 10 m for its 20 and 60 litre units.
Pick AR-AFFF where alcohols or solvents are stored, and water trolleys only for wood, paper and cloth risks.
