The 9 litre foam extinguisher, often listed as 9 ltr mechanical foam or AFFF, puts out burning petrol, diesel and oil (Class B) as well as wood and paper (Class A), and its foam blanket stops the fuel catching again. Here are 16 models of this size from Ceasefire, Kanex, Minimax, Savemax and Balaji Fire Safety, compared side by side.
Figures as each maker publishes them. Fire ratings are to IS 15683, or EN 3 where marked: A for wood, paper and cloth, B for flammable liquids and F for cooking oil; a higher number means a larger test fire put out.

Across the 16 models here, as their makers list them: full weight about 13.1 to 14.8 kg, height about 575 to 635 mm, discharge time about 15 to 35 seconds and throw about 2 to 6 m.
Foam is water mixed with a foam concentrate: AFFF in most models here, alcohol resistant AR-AFFF from Minimax for alcohols and solvents, and fluorine free foam from Ceasefire. Check the label before using it near live electrical equipment: only units the maker has tested for that are safe there.
Most 9 litre foam units are rated about 4A 144B to 4A 233B under IS 15683. Ceasefire's EN approved units add EN 3 ratings up to 21A 233B, and Minimax lists 6A 144B for its gas cartridge units.
Pick AR-AFFF where alcohols, solvents or paints may burn, and Ceasefire's fluorine free foam where a foam without fluorine compounds is wanted.
