How to choose
Couplings join lengths of fire hose to each other and to valves and nozzles. Aaag's instantaneous couplings are made to IS 903 and ISI approved (CM/L 1768269), in 63 mm with 38 mm and 100 mm as options: G130 in gunmetal or aluminium alloy, and S130 in SS 304. Aaag also makes a 63 mm to 38 mm reducing coupling, screwed lug (IS 903) and screwed hexagonal couplings, and bayonet Nunan and Storz couplings. When ordering, Aaag asks for the instantaneous size, the tail size (the bore of the hose), and whether the coupling should be multi serrated, twist release, polished or unpolished.
Adaptors join two different ends. The range covers female or male instantaneous to BSP thread (plain, hexagon, lug or swivel lug), round thread, flange (63 mm instantaneous to a 75 mm flange) and international shore connection, plus double female and double male instantaneous adaptors and a shank reducer from 63 mm instantaneous to a 19 mm shank. Most adaptors come in gunmetal or stainless steel, so state the material when you order.
A breeching joins or splits hose lines, for example from hydrants, pumpers or fire trucks. The collecting breech (G181) brings two lines into one and the dividing breech (G182) splits one into two, both to IS 905. Controlled dividing breechings let the flow to each branch be controlled: G183 to IS 5131 Type A, and G183A with a ball design. Breechings come in gunmetal, aluminium alloy or stainless steel.
Blank caps close outlets and inlets that are not in use: female instantaneous (G186), male instantaneous in metal (G187, G188) or ABS plastic (P188), female round thread in 75, 100 or 140 mm (G184) and male round thread in 175 mm (G185).
