A fire monitor is a large, aimable nozzle mount that throws a high volume stream of water or foam over a long distance. Start from the flow and reach the hazard needs. Aaag's fixed flow stainless steel monitors (WM series) are rated at 500, 750, 1000 or 2000 US GPM at 7 bar, with throws from 50 m to 80 m with water, and are used to protect flammable liquid storage tanks on fixed installations or trailers. The FM 675 gives 675 US GPM.
Variable flow monitors (VFM series) let you set the flow in steps, from 500 and 750 US GPM on the VFM 750 up to 1000, 1500 and 2000 US GPM on the VFM 2000, with inlet flanges from 100 NB to 150 NB. The VFM 4000 is headed 2000, 3000 and 4000 US GPM with a 200 NB (8 inch) inlet, but its table repeats the VFM 2000 flow figures, so we confirm its flow settings with Aaag. For foam, a jet ratio controller moves foam concentrate from a drum up to 60 m away to the foam nozzle of a 750, 1000 or 2000 GPM Aaag foam monitor.
Carbon steel water monitors suit general industrial fire protection: the M 63G (1750 LPM) and M 150G (7575 LPM) are aimed with gear operated hand wheels, and the M 75G (2580 LPM) and M 100G (3500 LPM) are swivel types with a lock. For special duties Aaag offers remote controlled electric monitors with manual override (RCM 1000, RCM 2000), a self oscillating monitor driven by a water motor (OSM 1000), a portable 18 kg monitor (Assault 63, 1880 LPM) and vehicle monitors (M199 and S199 series).
The Aaag monitors with published data share a maximum operating pressure of 14 bar (203 psi), a hydrostatic test pressure of 25 bar and a red polyurethane finish, and all but the portable monitor have ANSI B 16.5 150# raised inlet flanges. Aaag also builds custom monitors, manual or remote controlled by hydraulic or electric power, with explosion proof motors and control panels where needed.
