How to choose
A dry riser is a pipe that stays empty and is charged with water by the fire brigade in an emergency. The breeching inlet, fitted at ground level, is where the fire brigade connects its hoses to the riser. Every Aaag breeching inlet has 63 mm male instantaneous inlets, each with its own non return valve (NRV) so water cannot flow back out, a 21 bar test pressure and a red polyurethane finish.
Choose the number of inlets your fire drawings call for. 2 way inlets have a 100 NB (4 inch) base flange, and 3 and 4 way inlets a 150 NB (6 inch) base flange, drilled to ANSI B 16.5 150#; the 3 way inlet is also offered with a 100 NB flange. The 4 way inlet also comes in a horizontal pattern (G155 in gunmetal, S155 in stainless steel), and single inlets (G1740, S1740) have a 75 NB (3 inch) flange.
Pick the material to suit the site and the specification. Cast iron inlets (C151, C153, C154) have a cast iron body with gunmetal NRVs and valve bodies. Gunmetal inlets are gunmetal throughout, and stainless steel inlets use SS 304 for the body, NRVs and valve bodies.
An air release valve lets trapped air bleed out of the dry riser pipeline. Aaag's air release valves have a 25 mm male BSP or NPT threaded inlet, a 21 bar test pressure and a natural polished finish, in gunmetal (G152) or stainless steel (SS152).
