First decide what can burn in the area. ABC dry chemical powder handles Class A (wood, paper, cloth), Class B (petrol, oil, other flammable liquids) and Class C (gas and live electrical equipment), so it suits most mixed risk areas. MAP stands for mono ammonium phosphate, the powder that does the actual knockdown.
Match size to the risk and to who will use it. The 2.5 lbs unit is easy to handle for homes, small offices and vehicles; 10 lbs and 20 lbs units carry more agent for larger floor areas, warehouses and industrial bays. A UL fire rating such as 1A:10BC tells you the tested extinguishing capacity, and larger sizes carry higher ratings in the class.
Ask for UL listing if your client, insurer or export customer requires it. These Kanex models are listed to UL 299 and CAN/ULC-S504, and the gauge, hose, labels and tamper seal are UL listed too. They also carry a 12 year hydrotest interval and a 6 year warranty from the maker.
Plan the placement and the refill cycle together. FPS can survey your site in Bhopal, mount the units on brackets or stands at reachable points, and keep records for periodic inspection and refilling.
