How to choose

A branch pipe is the metal pipe fitted at the end of a hydrant hose to form the water into a jet. The Minimax short branch pipe has a 63 mm instantaneous male inlet, a quick push fit coupling that locks into the matching female coupling on the hose, and a 20 mm bore hexagonal base nozzle on a male threaded outlet. It is made to IS:903, ISI marked, and hydraulically tested at 21 kgf/sq.cm for 150 seconds.

A hose reel nozzle goes on the end of a first aid hose reel. The Minimax nozzle is 20 mm, fixed to the hose with a metal hydraulic crimp, works at 10 bar and comes in ABS or gunmetal versions, with spray and shut off functions listed by Minimax.

A monitor is a large nozzle on a fixed stand post that sends a heavy stream over a long distance. The Minimax monitor turns 360 degrees and moves from +90 degrees up to -45 degrees down. Minimax lists 1750 LPM with a horizontal throw of 55 to 60 m for the 2.5 inch version and 2580 LPM with 65 to 70 m for the 3.0 inch version, both at 7 kg/sq.cm. The flanged inlet is offered in 3 inch or 4 inch to suit your hydrant main.
