A clean agent extinguisher discharges a gas that leaves no residue, so nothing is left to clean off equipment after use. Minimax Grenoz units use Grenoz 1230, also named FK-5-1-12, which is stored as a liquid and comes out as a gas. It puts out fire by a smothering effect and does not conduct electricity back to the user.
Minimax lists Grenoz for Class A, B and C fires as well as electrically actuated fires, and intends it for facilities where electrical panels or electronic equipment are installed. Both models are stored pressure: dry nitrogen at 8 bar, cylinder tested at 35 bar for 30 sec, working from -30 °C to +60 °C.
