How to choose
A landing valve, also called a fire hydrant valve, is the outlet valve on a hydrant riser or main where the fire hose is connected. It stays shut in normal times. In a fire, the blank cap is taken off, a delivery hose is coupled to the instantaneous outlet and the valve is opened to send water into the hose. IS 5290 is the Indian Standard for landing valves, and Type A is the single outlet version, which is what both Zoloto models are.
Choose the body material. The bronze valve (article 1093) is made to IS 5290, and the stainless steel valve (article 1093A) is in SS 304 and uses IS 5290 as its design reference. Otherwise the two share the same design: 80 mm size, flanged, a screwed in bonnet, PTFE gland packing around the stem, an elastomer seat for a leak tight shut off, a large flow way and a maximum working temperature of 110°C.
