Two piece bronze ball valve with a BSP female inlet and a 5/8 inch BSP male outlet carrying a flare nut, made for refrigeration and HVAC connections. Sizes 15 mm to 25 mm.
A ball valve opens and shuts with a quarter turn of the lever. The ball inside has a hole through it, and turning the lever lines the hole up with the pipe or turns it across the flow. In a full bore valve the hole matches the pipe bore, so water passes with little restriction; a reduced bore valve has a smaller hole. Zoloto's bronze 1008 and 1008A and forged brass 1008B are full bore and two piece, while the screwed stainless steel 1080A and 1081 are reduced bore and three piece.
Pick the material for the line. The bronze valves have a stainless steel ball, and the forged brass 1008B has a hard chrome plated brass ball and a chrome finish. All three have PTFE seats and gland packing and female threads to IS 554 / BS 21 / ISO 7. For stainless steel, CF8 is the cast form of SS 304 and CF8M the cast form of SS 316: choose the grade your process or project specification names.
The stainless steel valves are designed to BS EN ISO 17292 (BS 5351) and rated for a maximum working pressure of 21 kg/cm²g (300 psig). The screwed versions take BSPT or NPT threads or socket weld ends, and the flanged versions have flanges drilled to ASME B16.5 Class 150, from 15 mm to 100 mm. Every ball valve on this page lists a 220°C maximum working temperature. None is listed as UL or FM approved, so where a fire design calls for listed valves, confirm the requirement with FPS before ordering.
