How to choose
A Y-type strainer catches dirt, scale and debris in a perforated screen so they do not reach pumps, valves and meters downstream. The screen sits in the angled leg of the Y. Zoloto's cast iron strainers use an SS 304 perforated sheet screen with 3 mm holes, guided in the body and cover, with a large screening area and streamlined body contours to keep the pressure drop low.
Choose by pressure. The 1084 is PN 10, rated 10 kg/cm²g (150 psig) with a 220°C maximum working temperature, from 40 mm to 350 mm. The 1084A is PN 16, rated 16 kg/cm²g (225 psig), from 40 mm to 250 mm. Both are flanged to BS 10 Table F, so check that your pipe flanges match.
For small refrigeration and HVAC lines, the 1085 and 1085A combine a two piece bronze ball valve and an SS 304 screen in one body, in 15 mm to 25 mm.
