A double regulating valve does two jobs. It can be set to a fixed opening that limits the flow through a branch, and it can also shut the line. Once the setting is made during commissioning, the lock shield or tamper proof setting holds it, so the valve can be closed for maintenance and opened again to the same position. Both Zoloto balancing valves are designed to BS 7350, the British Standard for this type of valve.
Choose by size and ends. The bronze valve (1087) is for 15 mm to 50 mm lines, with female threads to IS 554 / BS 21 / ISO 7, a nylon handwheel with a turn indicator, a PTFE sealing disc and pressure test cocks on the inlet and outlet. It is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar, with a 24 bar shell test and a working range of -10°C to 85°C. The cast iron valve (1087A) covers 65 mm to 300 mm, with flanges to BS 4504 Section 3.2 PN 16, handwheel operation, EPDM rubber sealing and a choice of with or without drain cocks; it takes 16 bar at ambient temperatures up to 45°C and has a 110°C maximum working temperature.
The air release valve (1095) is a small chrome plated forged brass valve that lets out air trapped in a pipe system, which otherwise disturbs the flow. It has a male screwed end to IS 554 / BS 21 / ISO 7, a full bore and a 110°C limit, in 15 mm, 20 mm and 25 mm. FPS supplies and installs these valves in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.
