Start with the conditions. For dry work, the PU coated VE702 (seamless polyamide) and VE702P (polyester) keep fingertip feel for precision jobs, and the VE630 has a latex coating. For oily or wet work, nitrile grips and resists oil: VE712GR, the foam nitrile VE722, the nitrile and polyurethane VE726 on a fine gauge 15 knit, and the nitrile on cotton jersey NI series. For wet handling, the embossed latex VE733 grips wet or dry objects.
Then read the EN 388 code: the four digits are abrasion (0 to 4), coupe cut (1 to 5, or X), tear (0 to 4) and puncture (0 to 4), followed by a TDM cut letter (A to F, or X when not tested) and P if the glove passed the impact test. These gloves are made for general handling rather than cut risk; for cut work, see the Delta Plus cut resistant gloves.
For the NI series, choose a knitted wrist (NI150, NI155) or a 6 cm canvas safety cuff (NI170, NI175), and a ventilated back (NI150, NI170) for breathability or full coating (NI155, NI175) to cover the back of the hand. For special needs, the VE702PESD is stated to EN 16350 for electrostatic properties, the VE712GR also to ISO 18889 GR, and the NYSOS VV904 to EN ISO 10819 for vibration, with P impact protection.
