How to choose

Read the EN 166 marking first. EN 166 is the European standard for eye protectors. The 1 is optical class 1, the class meant for long wear. The letter shows impact resistance: F is low energy impact and B is medium energy impact, and a T after it means the impact test was also passed at extreme temperatures. Other marks show extra protection: 3 for liquid droplets and splashes, 4 for large dust particles, K for anti-scratch and N for anti-fog. Most Delta Plus glasses here are 1 FT, while the GALERAS and SAJAMA goggles are BT and add 3 and 4.

Then choose the lens. A clear lens to EN 170 marked 2C-1.2 filters UV while keeping colours true, for indoor and general work. A smoke, mirror, polarized or gradient lens to EN 172 is a sun glare filter for outdoor work. A shade 5 lens to EN 169, on the PACAYA T5 and LIPARI2 T5, is a welding filter and does not replace a welding helmet where a higher shade is needed. Many models are also stated to ANSI Z87.1, where Z87+ is the US high impact mark, U6 is the UV filter scale and L the visible light shade.

Choose glasses for flying particles and all day comfort, and goggles where splashes or dust can get round the sides. For long wear look at the light frames, HELIUM 2 at 17 g and MILO at 18 g, the second also metal free. If workers wear helmets and ear defenders, the flat spatula arms of the BRAVA2 sit easily under both. Prices are on request: call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060.
