An automatic extinguisher is a self contained unit with a heat sensitive trigger: when the temperature around it rises to the set point, it discharges on its own, even when nobody is present. On the M Series this trigger is a quartzoid glass bulb in a sprinkler style head that actuates at about 68 C. Choose wall mounted units for targeted protection of a panel, machine or engine compartment, where a flexible bracket helps aim the unit at the risk, and ceiling mounted units to cover a room or high stacks from above without using floor space.
Then choose the agent. ABC powder (MAP 50 or MAP 90) covers Class A, B, C and electrically started fires in stores, factories and plant rooms. Fluoroketone (FK-5-1-12) is a clean agent that leaves no residue, suits server rooms and electronics, and Ceasefire states it is safe to use in confined spaces where people may be present.
The M Series adds two upgrades: a pressure port for a pressure switch, so units can report to a fire alarm panel, siren strobe or building management system, and Metron electrical actuators, which let several units be wired to detectors and a control panel as one total flooding system. Such a system uses cross zoning, which means two detectors in separate zones must confirm the fire before all units are fired together. The Launcher is different again: a MAP 90 extinguisher that is used by hand, can be thrown towards a large fire, or is left as a standalone suppression unit. FPS supplies, installs and refills all of these in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.
