How to choose
Linear heat detection cable (LHDC) is a sensor cable run along the area to be protected, such as a tunnel, conveyor or car park, that raises an alarm when heat reaches it at any point along its length. Both System Sensor types use a twisted pair of tri-metallic cores with an overall insulated, 1kV tested outer coat, come in several alarm temperature ratings, and work with conventional or intelligent fire alarm panels. The analogue type is resettable: its insulation changes resistance with temperature, and it restores itself after a fire as long as it has not gone above its resettable limit of 120°C; a zone can be up to 200 metres long. The digital type is non-resettable: its polymer sheath breaks down at a fixed temperature so the conductors touch and signal an alarm, a zone can be up to 3000 metres long, and it is monitored for open and short circuits through an interface unit and an end of line device.
Carbon monoxide (CO) detectors warn of dangerous levels of CO gas. The CO1224T and the round CO1224TR detectors sound and flash a temporal 4 alarm when dangerous CO levels are found, run on 12/24 VDC, and have a trouble relay that reports sensor failure or end of life to the panel.
