Where a 25 to 100 kg trolley ABC fire extinguisher is used

Trolley units weigh about 60 to 180 kg when full and are wheeled to the fire by one or two people. Most models here are rated 20A 233B under IS 16018, the Indian standard for wheeled extinguishers, with a throw of about 6 to 10 m, so they can be used from a safer distance.

They come as cartridge units, where a separate CO2 cylinder pressurises the body when used, or as stored pressure units with a gauge. Ceasefire also makes an EN 1866 approved range up to 100 kg.

How to choose

Pick the size by the risk and the space: a 25 kg trolley is easier to move through doors and aisles, while 50 and 75 kg units throw further and run longer, about 40 to 60 seconds on the Kanex and Minimax units against about 30 seconds at 25 kg.

Cartridge trolleys can be refilled on site after use; stored pressure trolleys show their charge on a gauge. For fuel and solvent stores, ask us whether foam or CO2 trolleys should sit beside the ABC units.
