For hydrant points you need a 63 mm delivery hose that couples to the landing valve at one end and the branch pipe at the other. RRL stands for reinforced rubber lined: the hose has a rubber lining inside a reinforced jacket. Kartar makes RRL hose to IS 636 in three types: Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 (earlier called Type B). Pick the type your consultant or approval specifies. Each comes as a complete length of 15 m or 30 m with Kartar 63 mm male and female couplings to IS 903, ISI marked, or as loose hose sold by the metre.
CP stands for controlled percolating: a small, controlled amount of water seeps through the hose wall so the outer surface stays wet. Kartar's 63 mm CP hose is made to IS 8423 and ISI marked, in 15 m and 30 m lengths with IS 903 couplings, or by the metre. For both RRL and CP hoses you choose gunmetal couplings, bound with copper wire, or stainless steel couplings, bound with SS wire.
First aid hose reels use a smaller hose. Kartar lists a black rubber hose to IS 444 and a thermoplastic hose to IS 12585, each ISI marked, in 20 mm and 25 mm bore and 30 m length, supplied without a nozzle, in Type I and Type II (Type II in 25 mm on request).
Flexible sprinkler drops connect the sprinkler main to the head at ceiling level and make alignment easier. Kartar's stainless steel drops come unbraided (K915) or braided (K915B) in 700, 1000, 1200, 1500 and 1800 mm lengths, complete with accessories, and a spare set of square bar and brackets (K9S14) is available. At pumps and in pipelines, the K923 neoprene single arch rubber bellows with control unit allows for pipe movement, in sizes from 50 mm to 300 mm; pipe flanges are not included.
