Fire Protection System (FPS), a Ravel dealer in Bhopal, supplies Ravel conventional detectors for zone wired fire alarm systems: photoelectric smoke detectors, heat detectors, a combined smoke and heat detector and the RE-326 series with relay contact versions. FPS installs, tests and maintains them across Madhya Pradesh.

Where to use Conventional Detectors

  • Offices and commercial buildings
  • Schools, colleges and hostels
  • Hospitals and clinics
  • Shops, showrooms and small malls

How to choose

A conventional detector is wired with others on a zone circuit of a conventional fire alarm panel, so the panel shows which zone is in alarm rather than the exact detector. First choose what the detector should sense. A photoelectric smoke detector senses smoke optically and suits most rooms, corridors and offices. A heat detector alarms at a set temperature or when the temperature rises quickly, and suits places such as kitchens where smoke or fumes are normal. The combined smoke and heat detector senses both.

The RE 316 detectors (smoke, heat, and smoke and heat) run on 9 to 33 V DC, have dual LEDs visible through 360°, a low profile housing on a regular 100 mm base, and an IP42 rating. Ravel states UL approval for each of them. The heat versions alarm at 59 °C or on a temperature rise of 11.1 °C per minute, and the heat detector has polarity free wiring.

The RE-326 series runs on 10 to 28 V DC and comes in seven ordering versions, including smoke and heat models, models with a normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) alarm contact rated 1 A at 30 V DC, and an auto reset version. Ravel lists the series to the EN 54 standard. All RE-326 versions use the RE-324B base. FPS supplies, installs and maintains Ravel detectors in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.

Frequently asked questions

What is a conventional detector?
It is a detector wired on a zone circuit of a conventional fire alarm panel. When it alarms, the panel shows the zone, not the individual detector.
Should I choose a smoke detector or a heat detector?
Smoke detectors suit most rooms and escape routes. Heat detectors suit places where smoke, steam or fumes are normal, such as kitchens, and Ravel's heat versions alarm at 59 °C or on a fast temperature rise.
What is a multi sensor detector?
It combines a photoelectric smoke sensor and a heat sensor in one head. Ravel's RE 316SH-2L is a conventional detector of this type.
Which base do Ravel conventional detectors use?
The RE 316 detectors fit the RE-314B normal base and the RE-326 series fits the RE-324B base. Ravel describes both ranges as using a regular 100 mm base.
Are Ravel conventional detectors approved?
Ravel states UL approval for the RE 316 smoke, heat, and smoke and heat detectors, and lists the RE-326 series to the EN 54 standard.
Does FPS install Ravel detectors in Bhopal?
Yes. FPS is a Ravel dealer and supplies, installs and maintains Ravel conventional detectors in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh. Prices are on request: call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060.
