Ravel Gas Leak Detectors in Bhopal

Fire Protection System (FPS), a Ravel dealer in Bhopal, supplies Ravel gas detectors for carbon monoxide, natural gas (methane) and LPG, each with an alarm relay output and a built in sounder. FPS installs, tests and maintains them across Madhya Pradesh.

Where to use Gas Detectors

  • Commercial and hotel kitchens using LPG or piped natural gas
  • Canteens and food courts
  • LPG cylinder banks and gas manifold rooms
  • Boiler rooms and gas fired plant rooms (natural gas)
  • Basement car parks and loading bays (carbon monoxide)
  • Generator rooms (carbon monoxide)
  • Residential buildings with a gas supply
  • Buildings with a conventional or addressable fire alarm panel

Ravel Gas Detectors models

How to choose

First match the detector to the gas. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a toxic gas given off by fuel burning engines and appliances, natural gas is mainly methane, and LPG is mainly propane. Ravel's RE 386 range has one model for each of these three gases, and the RE-396LP is a second LPG detector.

Next choose how it is powered and connected. The RE 386 detectors are 4 wire devices that run on 24 V DC from the fire alarm panel (21 to 27 V DC), sit on the RE-314B 4 wire detector base and can be connected to an addressable loop through the RE-717MZ zone module. They have a normally open (N/O) alarm relay, a 70 dB internal sounder, a reed switch for hush and test, and reset by themselves once the gas level falls below the alarm threshold. The RE-396LP runs on 110 V or 220 V AC mains, works with addressable or conventional panels, has an 85 dB sounder and comes with a normally open or normally closed relay.

The natural gas and LPG models alarm at or below 0.25 LEL, and the RE-396LP at 0.10 LEL, give or take 0.03. LEL, the lower explosive limit, is the lowest concentration of a gas in air that can ignite, so the detector warns well before that point. FPS supplies, installs and maintains Ravel gas detectors in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.

Frequently asked questions

Which gases can Ravel detectors sense?
Ravel lists detectors for carbon monoxide (RE 386-CO), natural gas or methane (RE 386-NG) and propane or LPG (RE 386-LP and RE-396LP).
Can a Ravel gas detector be connected to a fire alarm panel?
Yes. The RE 386 detectors run on 24 V DC and have a normally open alarm relay for connection to a panel, and the RE-396LP is suitable for addressable or conventional fire detection panels.
Does the detector need a separate power supply?
The RE 386 detectors take 21 to 27 V DC, usually from the fire alarm panel. The RE-396LP is powered from the mains at 110 V or 220 V AC.
What does LEL mean on a gas detector?
LEL is the lower explosive limit, the lowest concentration of a gas in air that can ignite. Ravel's natural gas and LPG detectors alarm at or below 0.25 LEL.
Does the gas sensor need regular replacement?
Ravel states that the gas sensor of these detectors needs no adjustment or replacement. The RE-396LP also has a yellow service required indicator.
Does FPS install Ravel gas detectors in Bhopal?
Yes. FPS is a Ravel dealer and supplies, installs and maintains Ravel gas detectors in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh. Prices are on request: call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060.
