How to choose
Start with addressable or conventional. In an addressable system every detector, call point and module has its own address on a wired loop, so the panel shows the exact device in alarm. In a conventional system devices are wired in zones, and the panel shows which zone is in alarm. Addressable suits larger and more complex buildings; conventional suits smaller sites where knowing the zone is enough.
Ravel's addressable panels are the Avani and the MonitI. The Avani starts with one loop and expands to 4 loops with RE-LC loop cards, with up to 254 devices per loop and 1016 per panel, and up to 8 panels can be networked in a node. Ravel states it is UL certified (9th edition). The MonitI is a single loop panel for 127 devices plus 20 loop powered sounders, and Ravel states CE approval for it. Both have a touch keypad, a built in USB port for a laptop and front panel programming.
Ravel's conventional panels run from 2 to 128 zones. The RE-102, RE-102ET, RE-104 and RE-102R / RE-104R are 2 and 4 zone panels for small buildings, with a 16 x 2 LCD.
