How to choose
Most Siemens alarm devices here are addressable and take both power and communication from the detector loop, so no auxiliary power supply is needed. They are synchronised with each other, and the FDS and FDSB devices monitor their own acoustic function (and, on beacons, the beacon). Cerberus PRO devices (FDS224 to FDS227, FDSB226 and FDSB227) run on FDnet or C-NET, the DBS720 on C-NET, the Sinteso FDSB291 on FDnet, and the Cerberus FIT FDS364-R and FDS366-RR on C-NET. For the FDS and FDSB devices the base is ordered separately.
Choose the signal. A sounder (FDS224, FDS364-R) gives a tone. A voice sounder (FDS225-R) adds a spoken message: 15 languages are built in and each message can play in two languages one after the other. A sounder beacon (FDS226, FDS366-RR) adds a flashing light, and the FDS227-RR combines voice and beacon. Siemens lists EN 54-3 (the EN 54 part for fire alarm sounders) for all sounders, and EN 54-23 (visual alarm devices) for the beacon models.
Choose the mounting. The FDS wall devices suit escape routes, corridors, staircases and offices and reach IP65 with a deep base. For ceilings, the FDSB226-WR and FDSB227-WR are sounder beacon bases, while the DBS720 (Cerberus PRO) and FDSB291 (Sinteso) are sounder bases that sit under a point detector and form one unit with it, as used in hotel rooms, hospitals and nursing homes.
Where low current draw matters, the RoLP-LX-RR sounder beacon and SOL-LX-W-RR beacon cover up to 7.5 m (W-2.4-7.5 category under EN 54-23) and can cut power use by up to 50 % with a reduced range of 2.5 m, and the ROLP-SV-R Roshni sounder offers 32 selectable tones. FPS supplies, installs and maintains Siemens alarm devices in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh and confirms the exact part numbers before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Do Siemens addressable sounders need a separate power supply?
No. The FDS sounders, sounder beacons and the DBS720 and FDSB291 sounder bases take their power and communication from the detector loop, with no auxiliary power needed.
What is a voice sounder?
It plays a spoken message as well as a tone. Siemens voice sounders such as the FDS225-R have 15 languages built in, and each message can be given in two languages in a row.
What is a sounder base?
It is a base with a built-in sounder that sits under a point detector, so the two form one ceiling unit. Siemens offers the DBS720 for Cerberus PRO and the FDSB291 for Sinteso detectors.
What do EN 54-3 and EN 54-23 mean?
EN 54-3 is the European standard part for fire alarm sounders and EN 54-23 is the part for visual alarm devices such as beacons. Each Siemens model lists the parts that apply to it.
Does FPS install Siemens sounders and beacons in Bhopal?
Yes. FPS is a Siemens dealer and supplies, installs, commissions and maintains Siemens alarm devices in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh. Prices are on request: call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060.
