A manual call point lets a person raise the fire alarm by hand. Siemens uses two actuation styles. With direct actuation, pressing the element raises the alarm at once: either a resettable plastic element, reset with a key, or a glass insert that is replaced afterwards. With indirect actuation, the user breaks the glass and then presses the pushbutton, as on the FDM223, FDM243H and FDM223-Ex.
Next match the system. The Cerberus PRO call points here work on FDnet or C-NET addressable lines and for most of them Siemens lists EN 54-11 (the EN 54 part for manual call points) and EN 54-17. The FDM365-RP is the Cerberus FIT addressable version on C-NET. The FDM1101-RP and FDM1101-RG are Cerberus FIT conventional call points for collective/SynoLINE600 lines, and the FDM1101A-RP is for conventional/SynoLINE300 lines on AC or DC 28 V.
Then the location. The FDM225 and FDM365-RP are for indoor use and need the FDMH295 back box for surface mounting. The FDM226 includes its housing base, is rated IP66 and suits indoor and outdoor use. The FDM224H heavy duty is for wet, humid and dusty areas such as tunnels and industry, the FDM243H has a very hard-wearing IP66 housing for outdoor and humid areas, and the FDM223-Ex is for potentially explosive areas on FDnet-Ex or C-NET-Ex lines.
Some call points are sold as parts: the FDM221 and FDM224 need their housing and switching unit ordered separately. FPS supplies, installs and maintains Siemens call points in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh and confirms the complete set of part numbers before ordering.
