Electrical Panel Fire Suppression System in Bhopal

Most electrical fires start inside a closed panel, where nobody sees them in time. A panel suppression system runs a heat sensing tube through the cabinet; when a fire heats it, the tube bursts and puts CO2 or clean agent straight onto the fire, with no power supply and nobody present. FPS supplies, installs and services panel systems from Ceasefire, Kanex, Minimax, Savemax, HD Fire and Honeywell.

How a tube system works

A pressurised heat sensing tube runs through the panel, past the busbars, breakers and cable entries where faults start. At about 150 to 180 C, as Ceasefire lists for its tube, the tube bursts at the hottest point.

In a direct system the burst point becomes the nozzle and the agent pours out right onto the fire. In an indirect system the drop in tube pressure opens a valve and the agent leaves through fixed nozzles, which suits larger enclosures. Either way the system needs no electricity and acts with nobody present.

Self-contained panel units

Small units that need no tubing layout: Ceasefire Mini and Mini Pro for fuse boxes, servers and confined spaces, released by a heat sensitive glass bulb; Minimax FIRESPOT panel protection in 2 and 4 kg; and the Savemax automatic panel protection system.

Savemax

Savemax Panel Protection System, Automatic Clean Agent

Clean agentAutomatic detection and suppressionElectrical panels

An automatic suppression system for electrical panels, switchgear, control cabins and server racks that detects a fire and puts it out at the source. It uses a clean agent that leaves no residue and is safe on live panels.

How to choose

Map the panel: its volume, whether it has forced or natural ventilation, and where heat builds up. Ceasefire tests its tube systems for both forced and natural air flow cabinets.

Pick the agent: CO2 for panels in rooms where nobody works, a clean agent (FK-5-1-12, HFC 227ea or HFC 236fa) where people work nearby or the electronics are sensitive. An ABC powder version exists for mixed risks but leaves powder behind.

We fit the tube through the cable routes, without drilling where we can, and Kanex lists that its system does not change the panel's IP rating. We commission the system and check it under an AMC.

Frequently asked questions

What is a tube based fire suppression system?
A system in which a pressurised heat sensing tube runs through the panel and acts as the detector. When a fire heats it, the tube bursts and releases the agent, either right there (direct) or through nozzles (indirect).
Does a panel suppression system need electricity?
No. It is pressurised and self actuating, so it works during a power cut and with nobody present. A pressure switch can be added to send an alarm or trip the supply.
Can it be fitted to an existing panel?
Yes. Kanex lists installation in new or existing cabinets, with the tubing entering through the cable routes and no drilling needed.
CO2 or clean agent for a panel?
CO2 suits panels in unmanned rooms. A clean agent suits panels near where people work and sensitive electronics. Both are non conductive and leave no residue.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the volume to protect, the agent, the number of zones and the release panel, so we quote after a free site survey. Send the room size and what it holds on WhatsApp at +91 92440 89060. Every supply is billed on a GST invoice.
