An interface module connects equipment that is not a detector to the fire alarm system, so the panel can monitor an input or switch an output. Most modules here are 2-wire elements on LSN (Local SecurityNetwork), Bosch's addressable loop bus, and most have two integrated isolators that keep the loop working after a wire break or short circuit. Several come in different housings with the same electronics: -W wall-mount with cover, -E built-in, -D DIN rail and -S surface-mount housing.
For inputs, the FLM-420-I2 monitors two inputs with EOL, contact or voltage monitoring, and the FLM-420-I8R1-S monitors eight inputs and adds a relay. For outputs, the FLM-420-O1I1 has one short-circuit-proof open collector output and one input, and the FLM-420-O8I2-S has eight outputs and two inputs, each output switching up to 700 mA. For potential-free (volt-free) relay contacts, choose the FLM-420-RLV1 (one relay) or FLM-420-RLV8-S (eight relays) for low voltage, or the FLM-420-RHV with two 230 V relays for smoke dampers or fans. The FLM-430-I2M1 and FLM-430-I4R2 combine inputs and outputs with configurable fail-safe logic for fire dampers and door holders.
Special modules: the FLM-420-NAC drives one supervised line of conventional sounders, strobes or horns (NAC means Notification Appliance Circuit), the FLM-420/4-CON connects two lines of 2-wire or 4-wire conventional detectors to an LSN panel through 4-wire LSN with external power, and the FLM-420-RLE-S monitors and activates an extinguishing system. The FLM-I 420-S isolates the part of the network that has a short circuit. End-of-line (EOL) modules terminate a line for Extended Line Supervision (ELS), which watches for creeping open faults and was formerly an EN 54-13 requirement.
FPS supplies, installs, programs and maintains Bosch interface modules in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh. Approvals differ by model and housing, so check the list under each model and confirm the exact part number with FPS.
