A manual call point lets a person raise the fire alarm by hand. First match it to the system: the FMC-420RW and FMC-210 call points are analog addressable and work on Bosch LSN and LSN improved loops, where each call point is identified individually and two integrated isolators keep the loop running after a wire break or short circuit. The FMC-300RW and FMC-120-DKM are for conventional zone systems.
Next choose the action. A type A (single action, direct) call point triggers with one action, such as pressing the marked area or breaking the glass. A type B (double action, indirect) call point needs two actions, such as breaking the glass and then pressing a button, which helps against accidental operation. The FMC-420RW, FMC-210-SM and FMC-300RW are type A; the FMC-210-DM, FMC-120-DKM, 2014/2 and DM1103B-EX are type B. Several FMC models come in a glass pane version and a resettable version, and the glass panes are foil labelled to protect against injury.
Then check the location. Indoor surface and flush versions are rated IP54 or IP52, the FMC-420RW outdoor versions IP67, and the FMC-210-DM-H-R and FMC-120-DKM-H-R outdoor versions IP54. For explosive atmospheres, the 2014/2 is encapsulated so it needs no safety barrier and Bosch states it is for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, while the DM1103B-EX is for zones 1 and 2 and is a two-wire, polycarbonate call point that Bosch says is in line with EN 54-11.
FPS supplies, installs, tests and maintains Bosch call points in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh. Approvals differ by model, so check the list under each model and confirm the exact part number with FPS.
