How to choose
An analog addressable detector has its own address on the loop, so the fire panel shows exactly which detector is in alarm. These Bosch detectors connect to LSN (Local SecurityNetwork), Bosch's addressable loop bus. In the AVENAR detector 4000 range, a model code ending in -R has rotary switches for manual addressing as well as automatic address setting; the versions without -R set their address automatically.
Choose the sensing principle for the risk. O is a single optical (smoke) sensor, OT adds a heat sensor, DO has two optical sensors (Dual-Ray) that Bosch says detect the lightest smoke, and DOT combines dual-optical and heat. The DOTC-R and DOTCO-R add a CO (carbon monoxide) gas sensor, which Bosch describes as reacting quickly to smouldering fires and suiting areas with dust, steam or cooking vapour. The DOTCO-R has a CO cell with a 10 year life and Bosch states its response sensitivity follows EN 54-26, EN 54-30 and EN 54-31. The FAH-425-T-R is a heat detector for fires with a rapid temperature rise or a maximum temperature.
The FAP-520 detectors are an ultra-flat design for flush ceiling installation on LSN improved systems, available as an optical smoke detector (FAP-O 520) or an optical/chemical multisensor (FAP-OC 520). They need the FAA-500 base; AVENAR detector 4000 detectors use bases such as the MS 400. Every model has its own approvals listed below, so check them against your project specification.
