A monitor is a fixed or trailer mounted device that throws a large stream of water or foam and can be aimed horizontally and vertically. Start with the size and flow you need. HD's 2.5 inch M 211 and M 241 give up to 2270 lpm (600 gpm), the 3 inch M 311 and M 341 are FM Approved with the VARSHA 40 nozzle from 1500 to 3030 lpm, the 4 inch VAJRA 433 reaches 7575 lpm (2000 gpm) with the VARSHA 50 nozzle, and the 6 inch VARUN 613 and 643 BZ go up to 12500 lpm (3300 gpm).
Then choose the material. Hot dip galvanized carbon steel monitors (M, M 211, M 311, MG 413, VARUN 613) are zinc coated against rust. Stainless steel monitors (M 241, M 341, VARUN 443, VARUN 643) and cast bronze monitors (VAJRA 331, VAJRA 433) are described by HD as corrosion resistant, which matters near the sea and in chemical areas.
Decide how the monitor will be aimed. Smaller models use a handle with a manual lock, while MG 413, VAJRA 433 and the VARUN range use a fully enclosed worm gear, which gives slow, steady movement. The VAJRA331-S oscillates by itself using a water driven wheel, with no wiring or hydraulic control, and the VARUN-443 electric remote controlled monitor is moved by motor from an explosion proof push button panel or a weatherproof joystick panel.
Finally, match approvals and nozzles. FM approval and UL listing apply to specific monitor and nozzle combinations, so tell us which approval your project needs. For foam, the VARUN 443 and 643 foam monitors can be supplied with or without a jet ratio controller (JRC). Prices on request: call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060.
