How to choose
An HD deluge valve is a quick opening, differential diaphragm valve. Water pressure trapped in its priming chamber holds it shut, so the outlet and the system pipework stay dry. When the releasing system operates, the priming pressure is let out and the valve opens fully. It has no latch, piston or hinges, and the rubber to metal seat seals drip tight. Release can be by wet pilot, dry pilot, electric or manual trim.
Pick the body to suit the site. Model A is cast iron for 175 psi service, with a vertical inlet, horizontal outlet and flanges to ANSI B16.1. Model H2 is cast steel to ASTM A216 WCB, Model H3 is ductile iron to ASTM A536, and Model H5 is nickel aluminium bronze to BS1400 AB2 for sea water and corrosive environments. H2, H3 and H5 can be installed horizontally or vertically with flanges to ANSI B16.5, and H3 and H5 reset automatically. All four come in 50, 80, 100, 150 and 200 mm and are UL Listed.
To save site work, choose a package. The D-PACK is a UL Listed modular cabinet with the valve, upstream, downstream and bypass butterfly valves, and a pre-wired pressure switch and solenoid valve in a junction box, while the DSK is the same idea as a factory tested open skid. Custom engineered and multi-line vertical skids (up to 8 deluge valves) are built to the project, can be enclosed with insulation and temperature control, and are assembled and tested in the factory.
Complete the trim with the parts HD lists for each valve: the dry pilot actuator for H2, H3 and H5, the positive drain actuator for Model A, the PSV1 priming shut-off valve, the automatic ball drip valve, the PMD-1 air pressure maintenance device, the local control panel and a water motor gong.
