Fire Protection System, an authorised Sant Valves distributor in Bhopal, supplies Sant quarter turn ball valves in forged brass, bronze, cast iron, cast steel and stainless steel, from 8 mm to 100 mm. The range includes ISI marked cast iron valves to IS 9890 and brass valves with a built in strainer.

Where to use Ball Valves

  • Quick quarter turn isolation on water supply and plumbing lines
  • Drain, vent and test points on water and fire pipework
  • Isolation ahead of pumps and equipment for maintenance
  • Oil and gas lines (CI-17 and CI-18 are listed for water, oil and gas)
  • Water and oil lines in bronze (IS-20)
  • Process lines that call for a stainless steel body (SSBVF, SSBVS, IC-1)
  • Utility lines up to 225°C (WCB cast steel, with pressure rating reduced at temperature)
  • Water lines that need a built in strainer (FBV4, BBVSF)

How to choose

A ball valve opens and shuts with a quarter turn of the lever or handle, which turns a drilled ball inside the body. It is quick to operate and its position is clear from the handle, so it suits isolation duty. Full bore means the hole through the ball matches the pipe bore, so the valve adds very little restriction; standard bore has a smaller hole. Sant's FBV2, FBV3 and SSBVS are full bore, and the IS-20 is standard bore.

Choose the body material for the service. Forged brass valves (FBV2, FBV3, FBV4) are rated PN-25 with female BSP parallel threads for building water lines. The IS-20 is in gun metal with IS-554 threads. The CI-17 (screwed) and CI-18 (flanged) are cast iron valves to IS 9890 Class 125, ISI marked, with stainless steel ball and stem. Stainless steel models (SSBVF, SSBVS, IC-1) suit lines where corrosion resistance matters, and the WCB cast steel valve is rated 69 barg at 30°C and 5 bar at 225°C.

Then look at ends and extras. Screwed valves come with BSP parallel, BSP taper or IS 554 threads; flanged valves come with IS 3516 or B.S.10 Table F flanges (CI-18) or ASME B 16.5 Class-150 drilled flanges (SSBVF). The FBV3 has a T handle instead of a lever, the FBV4 and BBVSF have a strainer built in, and the BBVF and BBVSF have a swivel flare nut on one end.

The ball valves on this page are not listed as UL or FM approved in the maker's data, so check your fire design before using them on sprinkler or hydrant lines. FPS supplies and installs Sant ball valves in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.

Frequently asked questions

What does full bore mean on a Sant ball valve?
The hole through the ball is the same size as the pipe, so water passes with very little restriction. Sant lists the FBV2, FBV3 and SSBVS as full bore and the IS-20 as standard bore.
Which Sant ball valves are ISI marked?
The CI-17 and CI-18 cast iron ball valves are made to IS 9890 Class 125 and are ISI marked. The CI-17 has screwed ends and the CI-18 has flanged ends, both from 15 mm to 100 mm.
Brass, bronze, cast iron or stainless steel: which should I choose?
Forged brass and bronze screwed valves suit water lines in buildings, the cast iron CI-17 and CI-18 are listed for water, oil and gas, and stainless steel suits lines where corrosion is a concern. FPS can help you pick the right model for your pipe size and pressure.
What is the FBV4 ball valve with strainer used for?
It combines a forged brass ball valve with a built in strainer, so one fitting both isolates the line and catches debris. It is rated PN-25 and comes from 15 mm to 40 mm.
How do I get a price for Sant ball valves?
Prices depend on model, size and quantity and are shared on request. Call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060 and FPS will quote for supply or supply with installation across MP.
