Sant Valves Pressure Reducing and Relief Valves in Bhopal

Fire Protection System, an authorised Sant Valves distributor in Bhopal, supplies Sant pressure reducing valves, which bring a high inlet pressure down to a steady lower outlet pressure, and spring loaded relief valves, which open to let out excess pressure. All are in forged brass or bronze, from 8 mm to 100 mm, for water and air.

Where to use Pressure Reducing and Relief Valves

  • Water supply lines in multi storey buildings, to limit pressure on lower floors
  • Branch lines feeding fixtures or equipment that need a lower pressure
  • Compressed air lines (the PRV and IBR models list air)
  • Over pressure protection on water and air pipework (IBR-21, IBR-22)
  • Pump delivery lines that need a relief point
  • Plant utility lines

How to choose

A pressure reducing valve works all the time: its spring loaded mechanism holds the outlet at a set lower pressure even when the inlet pressure changes. A relief valve stays shut in normal running and opens only when the pressure rises above its spring setting, letting out enough water or air to bring it back down.

For pressure reducing, the PRV is a forged brass, spring loaded valve with a screwed in bonnet from 15 mm to 100 mm, for water and compressed air, taking a maximum inlet pressure of 16 barg with an outlet range of 1 to 6 bar. The IBR-17A is a gun metal valve with a rubber diaphragm from 15 mm to 50 mm, for water and air, with a maximum inlet of 250 psig, a service temperature of 50°C and three outlet spring ranges: 5/60, 20/80 and 40/125 psig.

For relief, choose by discharge type. The IBR-21 is a straight pattern valve with open discharge, meaning the released water or air escapes directly at the valve, with male BSP threads. The IBR-22 is a right angle valve with enclosed discharge, with a female BSP outlet so the discharge can be piped away. Both are gun metal, 8 mm to 50 mm, for a maximum working pressure of 150 psig. FPS supplies and installs Sant pressure valves in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a pressure reducing valve and a relief valve?
A pressure reducing valve keeps the downstream pressure at a set lower level all the time. A relief valve stays closed and only opens to release pressure when it goes above its setting.
Which outlet ranges does the Sant IBR-17A offer?
Sant lists the IBR-17A bronze pressure reducing valve with outlet pressure ranges of 5/60, 20/80 and 40/125 psig, for a maximum inlet of 250 psig.
Open discharge or enclosed discharge relief valve: which do I need?
Open discharge (IBR-21) releases straight out of the valve and suits places where that is safe. Enclosed discharge (IBR-22) has a threaded outlet so the released water or air can be piped to a drain or safe point.
Can these valves be used on compressed air?
Yes. Sant lists the brass PRV for water and compressed air, the IBR-17A for water and air, and the IBR-21 and IBR-22 relief valves for water and air.
How do I get a price for Sant pressure reducing or relief valves?
Prices depend on model, size and pressure range and are shared on request. Call or WhatsApp +91 92440 89060 and FPS will quote for supply or supply with installation across MP.
