Apollo Soteria Optical Smoke Detector
An addressable optical smoke detector using Apollo's PureLight sensing technology for false alarm management and reliability, suited to slow burning, smouldering fires.
Fire Protection System (FPS) is an authorised Apollo distributor in Bhopal, supplying Apollo addressable detectors from the Soteria, Discovery and XP95 ranges: optical smoke, heat, carbon monoxide and multi-sensor detectors, flush mounted Soteria Dimension models and intrinsically safe XP95 detectors. Each detector reports to the fire panel under its own address, and FPS installs, commissions and maintains them across Madhya Pradesh.
An addressable optical smoke detector using Apollo's PureLight sensing technology for false alarm management and reliability, suited to slow burning, smouldering fires.
An addressable detector that combines PureLight optical smoke sensing with two thermistors for heat, responding to fast and slow burning fires and offered as an alternative to ionisation detectors. It comes in white and in black.
An addressable multi-sensor with dual optical smoke sensing and a central heat thermistor, with five operating modes so it can be adapted to its environment.
An addressable detector with three methods of detection: dual optical smoke sensing, a central heat thermistor and a carbon monoxide (CO) sensor, for accurate smoke detection that discriminates against false alarm sources.
An addressable heat detector with two heat sensors placed laterally for accurate detection in all orientations, and eight response modes for a wide range of application temperatures.
A low profile, flush mounted optical smoke detector with no chamber, a design that sets it apart from standard detectors. It uses CoreProtocol and comes in white and in black.
A flush mounted optical smoke detector with a ruggedised metal face plate held by anti-tamper screws, independently certified to DHF TS001 for anti-ligature use in specialist areas.
An addressable optical smoke detector that uses light scattering to detect fire quickly while managing false alarms, working across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +70°C.
An addressable detector whose optical smoke and thermistor heat sensors give a combined signal for improved false alarm management, responding to fast and slow burning fires.
An addressable heat detector with a low air flow resistance case and a single thermistor that senses the surrounding air temperature, for areas that are dirty or smoky in normal use.
An addressable fire detector with a long-life electro-chemical CO sensor that detects smouldering fires and tolerates low levels of common vapours and household products.
An addressable detector that combines a CO detection cell and a thermistor heat sensor into one analogue value, responding to both smouldering and flaming fires.
An addressable optical smoke detector that uses the light scatter principle to detect slow burning and smouldering fires quickly. It is listed under two white part numbers and a black version with an insect resistant screen.
An addressable detector that combines independent optical smoke and temperature sensors for better fire detection in areas with deceptive phenomena, and serves as an alternative to ionisation detectors.
An addressable heat detector whose single thermistor tracks the surrounding air temperature and reports an alarm at 55°C, for environments that are dirty or smoky in normal use. It is listed under two part numbers with different approval sets.
An addressable heat detector in class CS, responding at a fixed temperature in the higher C band, with a single thermistor tracking the surrounding air temperature.
An intrinsically safe addressable optical smoke detector for hazardous areas such as refineries and offshore platforms, using light scattering to detect slow burning and smouldering fires.
An intrinsically safe addressable heat detector with a low air flow resistance case that keeps the sensing thermistor in good contact with the surrounding air, which also tells it apart from the XP95 I.S. smoke detectors.
An addressable detector has its own address on the fire alarm loop, the cable circuit that runs out from the panel and back, so the panel shows exactly which detector has operated and can read its condition. Choose the range to suit the panel protocol: Soteria detectors use Apollo's digital CoreProtocol, while Discovery and XP95 detectors are for panels running those Apollo protocols. Several Soteria models are also listed as compatible with Discovery, and the Soteria Dimension with XP95, so check the exact model against your panel.
Then choose the sensor for the risk. Optical smoke detectors use light scattering and respond well to slow burning, smouldering fires, which suits bedrooms, escape routes and offices. Multi-sensors combine optical smoke and heat sensing to respond to fast and slow burning fires with improved false alarm management, and Apollo offers them as an alternative to ionisation detectors. Heat detectors suit dusty or smoky areas such as car parks, loading bays and warehouses. Carbon monoxide (CO) detectors pick up smouldering fires and are less prone than smoke detectors to false alarms from steam, and the Soteria Tri-Sensor adds a CO sensor to dual optical and heat sensing.
Response modes let one detector suit different rooms. Soteria optical and multi-sensor detectors and Discovery detectors have five modes, and the Soteria Heat Detector has eight response modes covering EN 54-5 classes A1R, A2R, A2S, BR, BS, CR and CS. In those classes A1 is the lowest temperature band and C the highest; R adds a rate of rise response and S means fixed temperature only. EN 54-7 is the European standard for point smoke detectors, EN 54-5 for heat detectors and EN 54-17 for short circuit isolators, which several Soteria detectors build in as a switchable isolator.
For special locations, Soteria Dimension detectors are low profile and flush mounted with no chamber; the Specialist version adds a metal face plate with anti-tamper screws and is certified to DHF TS001 for anti-ligature use. The XP95 I.S. detectors are for hazardous areas such as refineries and offshore platforms. FPS supplies, installs, commissions and maintains Apollo addressable detectors in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh.
